The material includes the analysis of a problem according to steps 1-3 of ARIZ-85B with the author’s comments. The comments comprise recommendations which probably served as a basis for the appearance of tools for supplementing the ARIZ steps (in particular, presentation of TC on the basis of ЭИЗ model). Well-seen is the line of analysis parallelizing by identifying different substance-field resources (SFR), as well as the formulation of elementary contradictions. 

Handouts contain comments concerning typical errors occurring while performing certain steps and tables which help to formalize the performance of each step. The material is dated 16.02.1989.
